Geared Motors for
Every movement requires drive. It is therefore essential that gear units and geared motors are used wherever goods have to be moved.
Conveyor technology plays a decisive role in many companies in which bulk and unit loads have to be transported. Today, conveyor technology is indispensable in the production, distribution and processing of goods. It supports and facilitates the output, transport, storage and picking of goods and speeds up processes in the process chain enormously.
Premium Stephan Hameln offers various gear units and geared motors for the conveyor technology sector. This also applies to the cement industry, where there are demanding processes with high energy requirements (see also Industry "Cement"). We offer solutions that are energy-efficient on the one hand and designed for harsh environmental conditions on the other.
The application areas listed below deal in greater detail with travel and conveyor belt drives as well as bucket elevators. If you do not find what you are looking for, please contact us. We will be happy to design a gearbox or geared motor for you that is completely tailored to your needs.
Travel drives (here primarily for harbour or overhead cranes) enable the longitudinal movement of the entire harbour crane along the quay or the translation of the crane bridge of an overhead crane. The drives are not only exposed to high dynamic loads but also to extreme weather and climatic conditions. Here, as in the example of Port Waratah, bevel gears from Premium Stephan have proven themselves over many years.
Where material has to be moved inexpensively as piece or bulk material, even over long distances, reliable drives are required. These conveyor systems, which are mainly designed as belt conveyors or chain conveyors, require drives with application-specific properties. As a rule, these are closed gears with parallel or right-angled shafts. These can be designed as hollow or solid shaft gears and can be individually adapted with a large number of connecting elements.
Bucket elevators are bulk material conveyors with buckets as supporting organ. Belts and single or double strand chains serve as pulling elements. Drive and deflection are via drums, rollers or chain wheels. Bucket elevators ensure continuous vertical material transport of bulk materials such as grain, soya, gravel, ore or coal. These goods are transported from the loading point into the silo or bunker for example. Special requirements are placed on the drive technology. In many cases, drive units are designed with backstop, auxiliary drive (maintenance drive) and hydraulic starting clutch.
